The best part is that I did it super cheap even though almost everything is new except the lamps, the headboard, and a few accessories. If you remember in this post, I showed you how I recovered the headboard.
Here's a closer look at the Ikea Malm furniture we bought. Since I discovered Overlays to customize Ikea furniture, I'm not sure they will stay like this long!

I love how the new floors contrast with all the white.

This chevron tray is great for holding all the little things that accumulate on your dresser. The little bowl from Anthropologie is perfect for every day jewelry.

I'm so happy with the way everything turned out and it only took me about six weeks to complete. I'm a slow DIY-er, so that's amazing for me!

I told you this room was cheap!
Great makeover, love the tray!
ReplyDeleteThanks!
DeleteYou did a wonderful job, love the paint color and I have that bedcover too from Target!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! I've been coveting that duvet for a while, so I'm glad to finally have it.
DeleteIt might be cheap but it looks like a fancy hotel room! I love it! You totally nailed it.
ReplyDeleteAww, thanks! I have to say my initial plan with more expensive furniture and fabrics wouldn't have turned out much different. And, this is instant gratification since there's no waiting for furniture to arrive!
DeleteIt looks awesome! I LOVE this style! Sometimes I wish I did white, instead of black, furniture in my bedroom. And I know you'll get to tohse overlays and make it even more amazing!

Thanks! I love black, but this room has always been really dark despite the amount of windows so I knew I wanted something light this time. A side benefit is that it doesn't show dust like my dark furniture did.
DeleteIt looks great....I love black and white....
ReplyDeleteThank you :)
DeleteI LOVE how your room turned out! We're right in the middle of updating our master too. One of our plans is to make our own headboard. I've been doing all the other projects in there first because that one intimidates me a litte. Really like your style. :) Sharon
ReplyDeleteThank you! I can't wait to see your bedroom when you're done. I have to admit I wasn't sure if this headboard would turn out at all. I kept asking everyone,"Can you believe I did that?"
